Blog Stage Seven: Original editorial or commentary #2

“Where did you buy my phone number from?”, is this the new way Californians will be answering their phone nowadays? since recently reported by the state of Californians DMVs have been making money while selling drivers' personal information, such as names, addresses, and phone numbers. Over $50 million is made annually. This information being sold to insurance companies and more. How do Californians react to this? Insanely mad because now no one trusts the government who is selling personal records and information to anyone. The DMV in the state of Californian answers back to the anger of many citizens by defending that their acts are legal.
This, in my opinion, contradicts the government, was not the government who wanted to stop robot calls but still they manage to play double face by selling out personal information. This is just pathetic. The United States government shall prevent things like things from happening, and most importantly respecting its citizens and not going behind their backs.  What can the nation expect from their government who sells personal information to regenerate money?

Although members of Congress shared their thoughts about this, they state that it is upon the person's own choice to give in such persona information and to attain to the responsibilities of what you may be agreeing on. But then again, this information is provided to the DNVs to obtain a driver’s license. It is insane the fact that now people shall be more precautious into giving out personal information to such offices like the DNM, worried that their personal information might get sold without the persons' consent.
